Whether women love to wear high heels or just love the attention they get when they do, many do not know how to walk in them properly or torture their bodies when they do.

Heel Hop There is now a gym class in Los Angeles, CA where one can go to not only get a workout, but also learn the how to properly wear high heels! Kamilah Barrett’s Heel Hop class at Muscle Mechanics is offering a low-impact workout which costs $15 for an hour long class, where 30 minutes is spent on toning and 30 minutes on tips for proper wear, spinal alignment, balance, and foot positioning. This sounds like a pretty good investment compared to the possible injury and discomfort that many women experience from improper wear.
Kamilah is famous for being a finalist on FOX’s “So you think you can Dance” and for being a lead dancer in music videos for 50 Cent and R. Kelly, just to name a couple. She has traveled the world as a professional choreographer, dancer, singer, and actress. She was first discovered by the music legend Prince.

High Heels For Men in True Mens Sizes!

During the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, high heels were an indicator of wealth and status for both men and women. This held true until the Revolution where men and women stopped wearing them to try and hide their noble stature. Since that time high heels for men were no longer mainstream. In the nineteenth century high heels were introduced here in the USA, but since it came after the Revolution they were only seen worn by women. High heels for men tried to make a come back during the 70′s disco era and have been seen off and on being worn by a few performers on stage.
Over the last 3-4 years I have seen a growing increase of men wearing high heels. Now these men are not only cross dressers and transsexuals, but straight men as well who just desire ‘fashion freedom’ or men
who just love the look and feel that only this type of shoe can give. Seeing this demand I started talking to many manufacturers here in the USA and in China trying to get them to manufacture high heel shoes
for men in men’s sizes, on a men’s last, but I was never able to get this done. Although I was not able to accomplish the task of having high heels for men made, another gentleman named Bernie J. Fatla has been able to. Bernie has been able to do what I was not, and that is to have high heel shoes made on a mens last in true men’s sizes! I have talked to Bernie and we are proud to announce that we are now carrying his full line of high heel shoes and boots designed for men. Unlike other sites that offer women’s shoes in larger sizes and converting them to men’s sizes and claiming that they are high heels for men, this new line of shoes is different. They are truly made on a men’s last and are in men’s sizes…they are men’s shoes. You may have noticed that I am trying to stress the point that this new line of shoes are truly high heels made for men and that these are not women’s shoes. I am doing this because this is truly a big deal. Men’s fashion freedom has become more pronounced in the recent years and I have had customers asking me where can they get product that actually fits. Foot Training.. Should I or Shouldn’t I?

High heels and foot training or also called foot bending. What is it and should I do it? These are common questions and the truth is these questions can only be answered by you. Like with everything, people see and feel about things differently. This is also the case when it comes to high heels. For most people the understanding of “foot fetish” will be out of reach unless you have one, just like the passion of having or liking to wear these types of shoes is also out of reach if you happen not to like them. Now most people fall in the range of liking them to having a passion for them and collecting them. But for some high heels has become an obsession. High heels are all they wear and the higher the heels, the stronger the high. Even if you ask people with this obsession why they feel this strongly about high heels, most of them cannot answer as they truthfully do not know. This is like asking a smoker why they cannot quit while other people can or asking an alcoholic why they drink. Most do not know. They do know though that the feeling they have is real and for some it is uncontrollable.
Now you may be asking yourself why go into all this? Well it is important to understand why some people do it and to help understand if you should. Only you know how strong a feeling you have towards these types of shoes and with this only you can determine if this is right for you.

Misconceptions of foot training.

The main misconception is that it can be reversed. Foot training involves raising the arch of the foot so when standing on your tip toes your shoulders are inline with your knees and your knees are inline with your ankles. If you raise the arch of your foot too much, then the only shoes you will be able to wear comfortably will be high heels.

Another misconception is that you need to train your feet to walk in heels no matter what height. This is not true at all. The issue comes in when you start wearing heels that are too high for you. Wearing heels that are too high for you can cause strain on your back, knees and hips. So it is important to know the maximum height of heel you should wear without training. Now again this is different for everyone, but there is an easy way to find the answer.

Finding the maximum heel height you can wear comfortably.

1. Take off your shoes and socks and stand barefoot facing a wall.
2. Rise up on you tip toes as high as you can while keeping your knees straight inline with your shoulders and ankles. “Put your hands flat on the wall to help keep your balance”.
3. Now have a friend measure the distance from the bottom of your heel to the floor.
This is your maximum heel height.

If you wish to wear heels higher than this, then you have to either train your feet, wear platform heels or risk injury to your lower back.
